Our latest new designer obsession is East London- based designer Han Chong behind Self Portrait Label, which is now the talk of the web and the new label to go to for affordable fashion-forward and cleverly designed and crafted party and cocktail dresses. A graduate of Central Saint Martins in London, and a former founder of accessible label Three Floor, this young budding Chinese talent is stocked at Selfridges, Shopbop and ASOS. We are in love with the entire collection of midi and mini dresses in pure shades of white and black.
On a recent fashion show in Dubai we opted for this cute cut-out lace mini with a ruffled skirt edge, echoing the upcoming cut-out trend and white obsession of the recent Spring Summer 2015 shows. Teamed up with statement green cage sandals from Reiss which we’ve had for 3 years now and a black Y cross body purse from Saint Laurent, the outfit felt fresh and effortless, and what better way to dress up for our own self portrait.

We just received our present from Net-A-Porter, that we ordered just three days ago: an Etoile Isabel Marant kimono top in cream and the concealed wedge Etoile boots. We really were excited about these casual basics as we knew we would be getting the most wear out of them.
We paired this key top from The Etoile collection in three different ways that all scream boho chic: a light version to wear in Dubai’s smouldering heat, a slightly more urban and preppy look to wear in London and a shaggy boho ensemble to wear in a ski resort , over hot chocolate in front of a fire place.
The lightweight Dubai version: simply paired with denim boyfriend shorts and silver jewellery bought from a market in Istanbul , we added a luxe touch with out latest bag obsession the leather fringed bag by Monserat de Luccaand a pair of snakeskin sandals by Alexandre Birman. Double decker stack ring by Henri Bendel.
We also think that this top works great dressed up a bit more smartly with burgundy skinny jeans by Paige Denim, a military navy coat (this one is 5 years old from French Connection) and smart court shoes in Grey from Miu Miu (shop this pair by Charlotte Olympia), vintage studded clutch by Sara Berman.
Plan your next ski getaway or even a week in New York with a boho monochrome look of leather mini skirt (this one is by Zara), faux fur gilet as an alternative to a warm sweater and those leg lengthening and ankle slimming concealed wedge boots by Isabel Marant. Fringed leather bag by Monserat De Lucca.

As we were clearing out our closet and being merciless about every single piece we hadn’t worn in the last 3 years, a flamboyant dark grey skirt emerged from the rubbles of 2004. This reconstructed cotton gauze full skirt is by British high street brand Oasis!
Our thoughts immediately turned to updating it with a very summer 2014 crop top and a pair of luxe lace- up ballerinas by Aquazzura, giving the skirt an air of urban Black Swan.
The originality of the design and the softness of the fabric, make the skirt look like a one-of-a-kind garment by some progressive new designer from East London.
Yes folks , this long-lost skirt made us think really hard about the state of our high street stores : shapes and designs are now often copied from the catwalks with very little originality and you would be lucky to find anything on those racks that isn’t made of some form of non-breathable polyester. Cotton, it seems, is no longer an option given the scarcity of the crops nowadays and silk is reserved for higher priced ranges. Even some of the designer names are holding on to margins by selling us polyester garments , which quite frankly is shameful given the inflation in designer prices over the last ten years.
Say no to Polyester, say no to unoriginality , and hold on to those beautifully- made vintage pieces , no matter how cheap you got them for.

We were in an urban hip hop mood , minus the baseball cap and chunky jewellery. We wanted to glam up the slouchy Boyfriend Jeans and Muscle Tank with lady-like accessories and keep it all comfy enough for a stroll around the city.
With our favourite headphones by Skull Candy around our neck, a denim shirt wrapped around our hips and the all-essential two-tone Chloe Baylee bag slung on our shoulder , we literally rocked our Topshop Shredded jeans and customised muscle tank by 3.1 Phillip Lim with a touch of very Valentino Red Rockstud ballerinas.
Just throw over the lot a black leather biker jacket by Karen Millen and our favourite gold tone and leather Vita Fede bracelets.

The last season has been all about resurrecting jeans washes and cuts from eras long gone by: take the Boyfriend for instance which works great with any figure , the Mom jeans which we still don’t feel flatter anyone (no offense mum) , and the High-waisted ultra skinny jean.
If you’re not blessed with the figure of Elle Macpherson or have an impossibly tiny waist , the high waisted skinny will only add pounds to your overall frame and put emphasis on your “burger aftermath” belly.
As a pear shaped woman with a waistline that has grown a couple of inches thicker post-baby, I have become a true size 10 from the waist down and still remain a size 8 on top.
For the past few years I had bought in bulk from Topshop their mid-rise Baxter cut in every single wash and colour. The cut is roomy enough around the hips and upper thighs and still flattering on the waist, behind and legs.
Until the Baxter cut completely disappeared from the Topshop floor and was replaced by it’s skinnier higher waisted counterpart the Leigh. We are thrilled that the Baxter is back in a new improved form: with a touch of stretch added to the fabric, a skinnier fit around the calf , a shorter hem that flatters the slimmest part of the ankle and strategically placed knee rips. The New Baxter is the best skinny pair of denims (and may we add the most affordable you could find) to flatter your fuller and less than model figure.
We’ve styled it by resurrecting the 80s with a touch of new millennium , by opting for a light wash and going for a total denim look. Just add legendary stilettos by Gianvito Rossi or the most comfortable Christian Louboutin pump (the 100 Décolleté), a structured black bag for a touch of modernism and gold tone jewelry with accents of black. Wear this look for a casual night out or a spin around the city.
You can also play the Eighties card further with a racer back varsity inspired tank top from Koton or Etoile by Isabel Marant and a pair of Converse canvas shoes. Stack up your bracelets and sling across your chest a small cross body bag for a contemporary touch.

With our second summer starting just after Hell season, we’ve been spending quite some time playing on the beach with our little people. Inspired by Dubai’s landscape of desert flowers and palm trees, our beach uniform consists of short play suits to stay cool and comfortable.
We don’t really see the point of running after out kids in caftans and dresses: most of the time we find ourselves bending in all sorts of compromising positions, for that reason alone it is quite nice to preserve some modesty.

Tiffany’s new T collection is the biggest launch to date for the New York jeweller and a great exercise in modern design. Conceptualised and executed within 3 months only, design director Francesca Amfitheatrof took inspiration from the letter T and New York´s architecture to come up with an effortless and modern collection for the busy woman.
Each bracelet or ring comes in an array of sizes to fit every woman’s wrist and in a variety of materials : sterling silver , solid gold in rose, yellow , white and gunmetal as well as statement pieces that are quite modern.
We spoke with Ms. Amfitheatrof who was an absolute delight and very warm and approachable , it had been her first time in Dubai and told us about her gruelling launch your schedule: next stop is Sydney.
We tried on all of the T collection pieces at Dubai’s Rira gallery in DIFC, a rare opportunity to wear the jewels for one evening and went away with a nice box of Tiffany T postcards.

While many of us struggle to stray away from the very flattering mid rise skinny cut and do our best to keep an open mind about new shapes, we have at last embraced the slouchy boyfriend cut which cleverly hides any bulges , worn slung low below the waist and ripped to shreds , this white Hayden version by Topshop lends a cool relaxed feel to any occasion.

Now that New York Fashion Week has kick started the Spring Summer 2015 season, we have had our sights on quintessential New York brands like Rag and Bone and Narciso Rodriguez, where silhouettes were minimal but fluid in a neutral urban palette.
Until these new collections hit the stores a year from now, we have put together an outfit from this summer’s collections that has a distinct monochrome fluid feel: Silk fluid top by Zara, silk umbrella skirt by 3.1 Phillip Lim , white stilettos by Sophia Webster and large Chloe Baylee bag.
