The Sexiest tee by Zadig & Voltaire

In our quest of finding the perfect Tee , we also came across the sexiest t-shirt: a beautifully cut and décolleté style number by French label Zadig & Voltaire.
We love the skull motif that lends it a rocker edge and the way it shows off the shoulders and bust. It also flatters the waistline by concealing any bulges.
Teamed with snakeskin pants or leather leggings , we can’t think of a better way to wear it.

An Air of Chloe

We love brands and the creative force behind them , they inspire us to look a certain way and bring out our mood of the moment. This time we are trying to imagine what Chloe would create if they were to design another collection that is more accessible than its main line.

Chloe has seduced us over the years with hit launches like The Paddington bag , soft neutral coloured dresses and separates that are not overtly sexy and have a playful edge to them. We love their shorts, lightly ruffled blouses and softly cut dresses and sleek jewellery in shiny brass tones.

We’ve created a couple of looks around the latest bag that’s been on everyone’s wish list, the Baylee bag, both inspired by Chloe ( we like to think that there is a girl called Chloe who actually exists and dresses that way).
We recycled an old petrol grey dress by Whistles which has a subtle slit in the back, by modernising it with a metal belt by Below the Belt, a pair of Aquazzura lace ups and an old necklace by Marni.

The second look is based on transparency and the sporty look that is so hot this season: a perforated and slightly ruffled top by Sandro, and skorts by Zara , teamed with gold tone pendant by Kenneth Jay Lane , an arrow cuff by Vita Fede and the very same Aquazzura lace ups. We just think that these shoes are so delicate and very Chloe like.

Fluo pink bags are back

We thought that 2014 would have marked the end of all things Eighties and Fluorescent, but Valentino really took us by surprise when they chucked out green, yellow , orange and pink bags and shoes in the brightest of blinding shades.

The best way to wear them are with black and white monochrome looks. Keep the look fresh by piling up loads of gold tone jewellery.

We love this Hermes Collier de Chien lookalike which we bought in a small boutique in Paris and the hottest new jewellery brand on the block that is taking New York and LA by storm: an arrow cuff by Vita Fede.

We love these small cross body bags by Rebecca Minkoff and Marc by Marc Jacobs.

Postcards from New York

I went to New York for the first time in four years , after a year of having baby Rafael keeping me up at night. The thought of a lie-in every morning for 6 days and the sheer freedom of just waking up to eat brunch and bum around and shop sounded like heaven.

Here are a few postcards from New York , decked out in a freeze-proof uniform of: Pinko down jacket , Chloe Baylee bag to fit gloves, hat and scarf in, Helmut Lang leather pants and Sweater , our own customised bejewelled eagle motif sweatshirt which we wore day to night. Biker boots when we needed to wear ski socks on the worst days or studded Ash trainers for extra comfort.

Some key suggestions of restaurants to go to:
Lunch/ brunch: Lafayette, Balthazar, Mercer Kitchen, ABC kitchen, Tartinery
Dinner: Locanda Verde, Bond Street Sushi, Blue Ribbon Sushi, The Standard Grill, La Esquina, Cafe Select.

From top to bottom: wall art in Soho and Nolita, outside a Cannolli and cigar shop on Mulberry street, our favourite coffee shop off West Broadway the Basque Bakery , an impressive multi-story car park on Lafayette street , and the computer keyboard wall of the James hotel in Soho.>

Some design inspiration from the MOMA

We love museums and especially modern art museums like the Tate Modern and the MOMA.

Today we were inspired by these works which are currently on display at the Museum of Modern Art in New York.

An air of eighties : muscle tank and leather skirt

We have brought back the eighties with a slogan muscle tank by 3.1 Phillip Lim : I love Nueva York and a zip detail leather mini skirt by Zara that is heavily inspired by Saint Laurent. We’ve modernized the whole look with lace up ballerinas by Aquazzura and a leopard print cross body bag by Club Monaco.

We added our own special SUF touch with some studs and Crystal embellishments on the muscle tank.

A customised sweatshirt for dinner

Following our obsession with sweatshirts for day wear we have also come up with a way to wear them for going out on the town to windy rooftop bars: a homemade and customized sweatshirt, embellished with all sorts of studs, spikes and crystals. The result is a personalized couture sweatshirt that cost 25GBP to buy from Stradivarius and 10 quid to revamp.
Phillip Lim would have been extremely proud of us as this is who we got our inspiration from.

We chopped off the arm cuffs , rolled them up and cut the length of the sweatshirt to wear it cropped or just long enough to be tucked under a high waist skirt. The studding took about 16 hours to finish but made evenings at home something to look forward to.

We teamed our homemade couture top with a waffle knit cream petal skirt from Zara, THE new skirt shape to wear for 2014 , strappy black sandals and a gold chain black mini bag from Saint Laurent.

The finishing touch to this sporty yet rock-chic look is a Swarovski crystal ear cuff by Ryan Storer, Aussie jewel wry designer favoured by Beyoncé and Rihanna.

Nothing feels better than wearing your own brand of couture!

The Varsity Sweatshirt a staple for everyday

The fashion world has been having a love affair with all things comfy , from track pants to sweatshirts. Givenchy slapped on a Bambi design on this winter’s sweatshirt and Kenzo made a huge comeback after years of hibernation with their tiger print motif.
From our end we’ve been having a fling with varsity sweatshirts the kind that you wear at your university’s sorority and that we grew up with as teenagers.
We didn’t go for luxe or expensive , but plain and accessible Topshop and Zara. We found that the varsity sweatshirt works just as well with a silk skirt by DVF and lace up ballerinas by hot shoe label Aquazzura , as much as it lends a cool Americana twist to a denim shirt and skort (which is a cross between shorts and a skirt to keep your modesty in check).
The common point between these 2 outfits? Cool and practical satchels in shades of indigo blue (PS1 by Proenza Schouler) or neon pink ( Marc by Marc Jacobs) which is making a huge comeback this spring.

New York sweatshirt by Topshop, Neon satchel Marc by Marc Jacobs, long tooth pendant by Kenneth Jay Lane, skirt cut off from an old DVF dress, lace up suede ballerinas by Aquazzura.

Denim shirt , American football sweatshirt and skort all by Zara, necklace by House of Harlow, PS1 satchel, gazelle trainers by Adidas . Shop similar Skort here.

We literally pulled this mission impossible by getting dressed under 1 minute in a printed and sequined Peter Pilotto dress and holographic shoes that look perfect when walking up stage. No need for any jewelry or accessories there!
