Fashion has gone totally high-tech on us this year with the Holographic trend. Stella McCartney and Boss first came up with holographic clutches and side paneled dresses in shimmering swathes of silver trending on gold, sapphire and ruby. Net-a-Porter and Matches Fashion sold out of Gianvito Rossi and Pierre Hardy’s holographic pumps before you could even hit the “add to basket” button.
I waited a few long weeks before I could get my hands on a holographic accessory, thanks to Zara, our favourite high-street store, in the form of an oversized clutch.
After only one week of acquiring our Robocop-inspired gadget , we found 2 completely different ways of wearing the holographic trend: surprisingly it complemented pretty well a boho-inspired look of faded grey jeans and an Isabel Marant-style oversized cream sweater. We then kept the look sports-luxe by pairing the holographic clutch with a neon pink top, cobalt blue tracksuit pants and neon tipped ballerinas. Watch this space for more holographic pairings as we get further inspired.
In the meantime we suggest you run to Zara before these futuristic accessories sell out yet again or if you shop quicker than the speed of light, get your hands on Gianvito Rossi’s holographic and PVC stilettos at Matches Fashion. That’s how resourceful we are at SUF ;)!
