The fashion world had fallen out of love with denim after nearly a decade where the industry was built on high-end and bespoke jeans. Suddenly every American mill was churning out endless brand names that promised superior butt lift and great distressed style, until we all grew tired of the jeans and top combo, favouring colour blocking and finer tailoring.
Fast forward to summer 2013 and Denim fever is taking over our entire wardrobe from shirts to overalls and jeans. On a special night out in London, we were itching to find a way to wear a newly-acquired denim shirt without being turned away for being too casual.
So we wore a sleeveless denim shirt from Stravidarius buttoned all the way up, cowboy style, and accentuated with a crystal-encrusted necklace we bought in Hong Kong from J.Crew (it was a limited edition Erickson Beamon design for J.Crew). We then dressed it up with a pair of black sequin shorts by Clover Canyon and our shoe obsession of the year , the Valentino Rockstud pump in powder and black. We will show you more pairings to come to help maximize the potential of our beloved Rockstuds. We finally amped the tough factor further with a leather-studded bracelet by Vita Fede and toned it down again with an oversize two-tone clutch by Marni.
This western theme was further spotted by some of the party-goers: a customized tribal necklace made of several pieces from Accessorize , a pair of embroidered suede turquoise platforms by Brian Atwood and a gentleman sporting peacock blue shoes with a red stitching (by Dior Homme). Yeee Haaa!!
