The shoe maestro who was obsessed with his mother’s stilettos since he was 7 years old, made his career debut as a DJ back in the 80s before turning to shoe design, perhaps that’s why he was absolutely approachable and appreciative of his fans: autographing the back of their shoes like a true rock-star.
Zanotti’s collection is as always the eptitome of sexiness and creativity, with clear clubbing influences in the form of acid colours and sparkly materials. The latest addition to his collection of sexy stiletto sandals was the Zodiac collection: a range of rose-gold flat sandals emblazoned with Swarovski-studded horoscope signs.
Needless to say I was like a kid in a candy shop with all of the exquisite shoes, and was even more mesmerised by some of the guests’ perfectly polished style and the highest shoes I had seen on girls in a while (all by Zanotti of course).
Loving the fresh hues on show, the nude heels and special Mary Katrantzou Longchamp carry-all.
While I felt absolutely comfortable in Mr. Zanotti’s company, taking pictures at the wall of fame, I was very shy around some of the most photographed socialites who are constantly featured in Harper’s Bazaar’s best dressed list or Grazia’s party pages. Thankfully, I had my wing woman Lorena who is also acting as my PR consultant, her no-nonsense approach made it possible for me to photograph Lina Samman , probably the most visible socialite in Dubai.
After my delightful encounter with Mr.Zanotti I will be procrastinating over the next pair of shoes I will be acquiring, organza flowered black stiletto sandals…
