Often we dress according to the places that we live in or to blend in better in our environment, think Breton stripes by the French Riviera or boho kaftans in India.
On a recent wedding weekend by Lake Como in Italy, we needed to dress smartly but casually. But with 2 different weather temperatures that were forecast , we had to pack for every possibility.
The only common basis for our wardrobe was the lush Green landscape and beautiful waters of Lake Como.
For a chilly lunch by the lake, we opted for cigarette white Baxter jeans by Topshop , snakeskin sandals by Alexandre Birman, a striped nautical cotton sweater by Gap and to add some contrast to the whole look a bright fiery orange scarf by Zara (shop bright scarf here by Lemlem) Accessories were kept classical with a Caviar Chanel bag that took us from day to night , and gold tone jewellery by Vitafede (arrow bracelet) and a YSL cocktail ring.
On a warmer day strolling through the gardens of Villa Deste and the streets of Bellagio, we wore a volcanic landscape- inspired dress by our favourite designer 3.1 Phillip Lim and lace up ballerinas by Aquazzura.
Anything more restrictive or boho would have done injustice to Lake Como’s glorious hills.
