Sometimes it feels bold enough to wear a hot pink dress , so when we saw this hot pink coat hanging in Hania Farroukh’s closet, we knew that we had found the solution to a very difficult fashion dilemma. This unique hot pink coat by Middle Eastern designer Essa is cut in a Neoprene high tech fabric making it even more difficult to style with everyday fabrics.
Hania did wonders with this piece , wearing it as a dress , as a casual overcoat on a layered look and in a cool downtown colour-blocked style that we improvised on the spot.
Worn as a dress the hot pink coat was embellished and closed up with some colourful Swarovski pins found in Satwa market. The colour scheme was taken to the extreme with a tone on tone look of pink and red: a micro red leather bag by Prada stood out perfectly against the shiny high tech coat fabric. The suede Miu Miu slippers also seemed to fit right in.
The second outfit combination that really took our breath away was a layered ensemble of Stella McCartney navy lace top, Floral print Stella McCartney shorts and plum cardigan by Celine. The whole ensemble was toned down with the absence of accessories and simple leg-elongating YSL tribute sandals in nude.
We then spotted a Neoprene shell top in electric blue from COS and decided to create an urban look with a colour-block theme. We simply teamed Jimmy Choo biker boots and tailored black shorts with electric blue and pink. This look can also be carried off during winter with a pair of black opaque tights.
