Have you got your tennis tickets sorted this week and more importantly have you figured out what to wear at Wimbledon ? If you are aiming to look more like a sporty tennis enthusiast rather than a bourgeois spectator, we found a way to combine Wimbledon’s white colour code with fresh and sporty cuts and fabrics, injected with sports-gear inspired neon accents.
First things first, you need to wear a light short-sleeved cotton sweatshirt to keep you cool under the sun and slightly warmer when the weather turns. We love this option by Michael Kors as the length is just short enough to reveal a flare-hemed cotton pique skirt from Zara (shop similar options inspired by the Tennis skirt below). We decided to go for a skirt to keep the sweatshirt look less scruffy and to echo the shape of tennis skirts on-court.
The shades to wear are a pair of rounded acetate sunglasses in a light pastel or cream colour by Prada. We added a touch of zesty yellow accents with this Proenza Schouler PS11 chain purse to keep the bare essentials in order and a pair of Suecomma Bonnie python and neon detailed cut-out shoes, which we’ve had for 3 years. We stacked Monica Vinader Fiji bracelets as the only accessory, keeping the rest of the look fuss-free.
